Bigger tires were one of the many things we did in the summer of 2003. There is a story behind the tires. Earlier in the summer we were at our summer cottage in Lapland. We were driving in my mother's Pajero/Montero on a gravel road to a fishing spot and when we stopped we found out that one of the rear tires had been punctured and was letting air out. No problem here, we just changed the tire for the spare one and the next day drove to the nearest tire shop about 90km away. The punctured tire was replaced with a new one and so was the tire on the opposite side since they were both quite worn out and the slight difference in the diameters would've stressed the rear diff. Once we got back south, my mother purchased new tires to the front too and she so she had a spare set of tires. I didn't think about it that much then, but when one day my father appeared with the tires set on a set of new rims, I knew what we were about to do.
